The ARF has extensive experience in electoral work through partnerships with leading civil society organizations in Armenia. In collaboration with the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office

ARF has engaged in projects aimed at strengthening democratic processes, protecting electoral rights, and promoting civic oversight.

Specifically, ARF’s legal advisor, trained through professional capacity-building programs, supported both long-term and short-term observer groups during the elections of March–April 2017 (as an initiative group), November 2018 (ARF), and October 2021 (ARF).

Key implemented projects include:

  • “Elections for All 2021 – Local Observation and Citizen Empowerment” (EU-funded)
  • “Capacity Building of Local Observation Organizations” (supported by Open Society Foundations)
  • “Civil Oversight of Extraordinary Elections – Ankakh Ditord” (EU-funded)

These initiatives have enabled ARF to gain professional expertise in election observation, providing advisory support to observer groups, and ensuring civic oversight of electoral processes.

Additionally, in cooperation with the Gyumri Progress Civil Society Development Center, ARF participated in media monitoring of political campaign coverage on television during the December 2018 elections.
