The All for Equal Rights Foundation (ARF), in collaboration with the Media Diversity Institute (MDI) and the Media Ethics Observatory, invites representatives from the media and civil society organizations to participate in a one-day capacity-building event and the presentation of the moderAItor tool.
The event is implemented within the framework of the “Detecting and Countering Hate Speech Targeting Women in Armenia” project, which aims to strengthen the integrity of the media and online environment while fostering a safe digital space.
The event will present ethical and technological solutions developed within the framework of the Project.
Participants will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Editorial Policy on Comment Moderation, which sets ethical guidelines for managing problematic content on online platforms. This policy is the result of our joint efforts aimed at media self-regulation. The practical application of the policy will be presented through the moderAItor AB tool, which allows for automated and transparent identification and filtering of hate speech, contributing to the formation of a responsible media environment.
Within the framework of the project, media organizations and civil society actors will be given the opportunity to use moderAItor free of charge, delegating complex moderation processes to this tool that performs moderation in Armenian characters, Cyrillic and Latin Armenian.
Special attention will be paid to gender equality issues and the specifics of hate speech targeting women in the digital domain. An important component of the training is the presentation of European Union regulations and best practices, which will enable participants to more effectively balance the right to freedom of expression and editorial responsibility.
